03.10.2026
On September 30, MGIMO hosted the 5th Gerchikov Readings, “International Business Amidst Asymmetric Digital Development,” as part of IBT-2026.
The conference brought together representatives from academia and the business community to discuss the transformation of international business, new approaches to management and marketing, as well as the opportunities and risks of implementing digital technologies. Special attention was paid to the uneven digital development of countries and companies and its impact on business competitiveness.

The Dean of the Faculty of International Business, Dr. of Economics V. V. Shapovalov, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. The plenary session was moderated by the Head of the Department of Management, Marketing and Foreign Economic Activity named after I. N. Gerchikova, Dr. of Economics, Professor N. Yu. Konina.

The Kalradia student analytical center was among the guests of the event. The center's main area of participation was the management of foreign economic activity in the context of digital transformation and geoeconomic fragmentation. Notably, the forum program included a presentation by our center on the topic "The 'North–South' Digital Corridor as a Driver of Transformation in the Foreign Economic Activity of Russia and Azerbaijan: Challenges and Opportunities for Business." In this session, SAC Kalradia presented analytics and proposed solutions to the problems of the North–South corridor through digitalization, and also outlined prospects and possible ways to address these issues through our research club, the Azerbaijan-Russia Dialogue Club. This is an important prospect not only for the development of our club but also for the establishment of our center as a serious student analytical center.
